Charles Marshall  Director of Music

Charles is organist and Director of Music at St Ann’s Church, Dawson Street, Dublin. He received his musical education at the Royal Irish College of Music, the Schola Cantorum of St Finian’s College Mullingar, and Emmanuel College Cambridge, studying organ with Shane Brennan, Peter Hurford and David Adams. He completed his Masters in Music Performance at the Royal Irish Academy of Music under the direction of David Adams last year receiving first-class honours. Charles lived in Japan for 14 years and is also an accomplished exponent of the traditional Japanese lute known as the Satsuma Biwa.



Carole O'Connor Accompanist
Carole O’Connor began her organ studies with Anne Leahy in St Michael’s Church, Dun Laoghaire. She is a first-class honours graduate of DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama and of UCD. In 2006, she completed a performance degree in DIT, studying organ with Una Russell, and piano with Siobhan Kilkelly and Mary Lennon. The following year, she graduated with a master’s degree in musicology from UCD. She then continued organ studies with David Adams at the Royal Irish Academy of Music. She has participated in masterclasses both at home and abroad, including the Oundle Academy in Cambridge, the Académie de Musique Tibor Varga in Sion, Switzerland and the Romainmôtier Organ Academy, and has given recitals in St Patrick’s Cathedral and Galway Cathedral.
She recently completed a PhD in DIT. Her research focuses on French organ music of the twentieth century.
Carole is currently an instrumental teacher in Pianos Plus School, Blackrock College and Alexandra College. She works as an accompanist for choirs and soloists in Dublin, and is organist of St Andrew’s Church, Westland Row.
