Alla Honcharova
Our Music Team
Alla Honcharova was born in Ukraine and has been passionate about music from an early age, beginning her piano studies at the age of eight.
She graduated from music school and from the Vasyl Barvinsky Drohobych Music College with distinction. She later gained a degree in Music from Drohobych Pedagogical University.
Alla spent her entire professional career at Vasyl Barvinsky Drohobych Music College, where she worked as a piano teacher and accompanist. She specialised particularly in accompanying students of choral conducting and worked closely with future choir conductors and choral directors. She also accompanied instrumentalists, including violinists, flautists and domra players, as well as singers.
Throughout her career, Alla performed with choirs and students at concerts, competitions, cultural events and official celebrations. Choir music and working with musicians have always been an important and rewarding part of her life.
After the war began in Ukraine, Alla moved to Ireland with her husband to join their son. She soon continued her musical work here, first joining a local senior citizens’ choir as a singer and later becoming its accompanist. She has now been working with the choir for four years.
She has also worked as an accompanist with SongMartin’s Choir in Drumcondra for the past year.
Alla is delighted to now join the D.M.V.C. as Musical Accompanist and looks forward to meeting the members and making music together.
